Huddersfield Star Wheelers Presentation Evening 2012

Welcome to the website of the Huddersfield Star Wheelers.

We are one of the largest and friendliest cycling clubs in Yorkshire and cater for practically all disciplines of cycle sport, from cyclo-cross, mountain biking and trailquests, to road racing and touring.

Off Road Rides

Club members meet for a mountain bike ride on Saturday mornings at various locations, see the forum for more details.

Midweek Road Rides

Tuesday 19:00 Evening ride

Easy paced ride, different routes around Huddersfield. Lasts between 1 ½ to 2 hours, ave speed 14-16 mph. Good ride for learning to ride in a group. No one gets left behind.

Meet outside Safety Centre, Bridge Street, Lockwood

Wednesday Circuit training

Please note: Wednesday training has finished for 2011, will recommence Spring 2012.

For anyone who wants to develop as a cyclist. Whatever your cycling goals are for 2011 you can benefit from joining in. Fitness, endurance, riding close order, through and off, sprinting etc. As we ride round a circuit, if you fall behind, you can catch up next time round, or drop off at any time.

Meet Butts road, Farnley Tyas 19:00

Thursday 19:15 Training ride

Set route of approx 25 miles, recreates race including King of Mountains, and Sprint points. Ideal for cyclist who are active or “would be” active racers. Ave speed 18mph.

Meet bottom of Station Road, Honley

Sunday Road Rides

08:30 longer club ride

Different routes throughout Yorkshire, Lancs, Derbyshire. Between 60 – 80 miles with an average speed between 16-18 mph (higher if it's a flat route). Includes café stop. Advisable for more experienced/ fitter cyclists.

09:00 shorter club ride

The distance and location vary throughout Yorkshire, Lanc, Derbyshire, Between 40 – 60 miles with an average speed between 14-16 mph. Includes café stop and frequent regroups. Ideal for cyclists looking to improve fitness/endurance.
